A small compilation of simple tricks that can be useful in daily life.
- Shirt buttons popping off too often? Put a light coating of transparent nail polish over the stitching. This will prevent frequent breakage.
- Smelly jeans and no time for washing?Fold your denims, put them in a Ziploc bag and put it in the freezer overnight The bad odour will vanish.
- Smelly shoes? Put a couple of tea bags in the shoes and leave them overnight. They'll be odour free.
- Broken glass and difficulty cleaning the little pieces? Take a piece of bread and press it down on the small shards. They'll stick to the bread and you'll be able to clean without getting cut. The bread slice can then be wrapped carefully and disposed off so as to ensure that no one consumes it.
- Icecream turning icy and too hard in the freezer? Put the icecream tub in a zip lock bag before storing it in the freezer. This will keep it soft (not runny).
- Butter from the fridge too hard to apply on bread? Just grate in over the slice of bread, then spread it after a minute.
- Tired of bananas getting over ripe too soon? Simply cover the stems with cling wrap. This will prevent ethylene gas, which is produced as a part of ripening, from spreading to the fruit and keep the fruit fresh for long.
